Yamaha India has finally unveiled the YZF R15 V3 after years of speculations and spotting in India. Royal Enfield has done a great job with revamping its older variant of the Thunderbird into a refreshed new style and coming up with the Royal Enfield 500X. But then the question arises, is it better than its older variant or fails to be?

About the looks of it

Talking into the changes that it brings to the look, Royal Enfield has done its homework when it comes to improvising the looks. The bike comes in a few bright colors like the blue and orange.

To add some sporty element to the bike the handlebars provided are the straight short ones in kind. This sure does get the rider more upfront, but the footpegs happen to still be in the old variant’s style for the relaxed position.

The tubeless tyres and the rim tapes that match the bike’s color sure add to the looks of it. The seat on the ride is a single piece style. The seat is also embroidered with color that matches that of the ride itself. The small detailing of the kind sure adds to the looks. Although going into details you might come across a few imperfections as well.

The paint job on the fuel tank might not be the smoothest you’d have come across and also the wiring on the ride is exposed at many points which is kind of messy.

Royal Enfield 500X

The ride itself

The bike is much like the previous variants of it, although to make the ride smoother Royal Enfield adds gas charged shockers to the ride that goes well unnoticed in the quality improvement of the ride.

It is said that the bike seems to be vibrating quite a bit through its initial couple thousand of rpm but the cushioning of the seats seems to manage to cover that throughout the drive.

There have been no changes made to the braking system or tire dimensions either which isn’t bad either. The engine on this ride is powered by the 499cc motor from the Thunderbird 500, which produces 27.2hp and 41.3Nm of torque.

One of the considerable change made to the bike includes the addition of alloy wheels to it. Weighing the same as its predecessor (198kg) the ride produces and overall similar output performance.

Should I go for the new one?

Royal Enfield 500X

If you wish to be a part of the Royal Enfield community and would want to go for a thunderbird this might be a sweet ride for you if you can live with the few little flaws on this ride.

At Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) – which is a fair increment, in which you get factory-fitted alloys and tubeless tyres, as well, the new Thunderbird is Rs 7-8,000 more expensive than the regular models you get a ride with a lot richer looks. For all those who own the previous Thunderbird, you might want to hold on to it. Have you tried your hands on new Royal Enfield 500X ? Share your experience with us.

The reason we’re so in love with motorcycles is the feeling of the air whipping against our face and the rush of adrenaline through our veins. Imagine the wind blowing through your hair and the rush of adrenaline flowing through your veins. The feeling of the wind and elements as you drive through traffic is unlike anything you’ll ever experience- liberating and exhilarating at the same time. One of the great rewards for riding a motorcycle is seeing the look of awe on other people’s face as you cruise past them which is why bikes usually attract the younger generation.

And if you’re looking for a bike that is good enough to satiate your need for speed while at the same time is easy on the pocket and easy to drive around in the traffic of our cities, then this is just the blog for you. Here I am about to provide you a list of five bikes that are deemed the hottest purchase in the current market trend.

KTM 200 Duke

The Duke is a bike that has everything going for it- from its design to its performance, and the best part may just be the price. Once you find yourself looking at this beauty, you can’t look the other way. This high revving, quick bike is agile and easy to control because of its light body (weight 148 kg).

Royal Enfield Himalayan

This bike is the perfect travel partner for a solo trip to the mountains and probably the best bet if you are looking for an adventure on a budget. It comes with sturdy off-road underpinnings and an accessible 411cc motor that is high on torque. With a grounded stance, terrain tested suspension, dual-purpose tires that enable you to enjoy any territory means the Himalayan can handle any on the road or off-road environments. The Himalayan is the only bike by Royal Enfield that is not a thumper, but that doesn’t make it any less appealing.

Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220

Bajaj-Avenger-Cruise-220

The Cruise 220 gets styling cues that are true to its name, with a new handlebar and white hue head-lamps for better visibility during night rides. Its slightly higher handlebar offers a more relaxed riding posture for longer distances. So if you want people to turn their attention to you when you’re on the road, this is the bike for you. It has an excellent engine performance and gearbox engine performance: throttle response is crisp. This bike is definitely worth the money.

Royal Enfield Classic 350

Royal-Enfield-Classic-350

The Classic 350 is an amalgamation of modern-day appeal and vintage charm. This bike is the exact reason why the term ‘thumper’ was instantly popular among the masses. If it isn’t the looks that make people turn, the distinct sound of the thump sure will. Once you’ve ridden an Enfield, you’ll be ruined for any other bike; the experience is truly a privilege.

TVS Apache RR 310

TVS-Apache-RR-310
TVS-Apache-RR-310

The RR 310 is the first fully-faired sports bike that has been introduced by TVS. The ‘RR’ in its name stands for Race Replica and it sure does provide a comfortable riding geometry. The large fuel tank, uplifted rear fender, and the stylish tail lamps come together to craft a striking look for the bike.

Now that you’ve read my blog, you know which bikes are on trend currently so buying one shouldn’t be a hard task.

Vespa has recently brought out a production model at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. This model is that of its electric scooter that it is going to introduce in the future. The scooter will be called Vespa Elettrica. It is expected that this scooter would be able to cover a distance of 100 km with a single charge. It is also going to be pretty easy charging the scooter. Its owners can charge it from a public charging station or even from a socket in their own home. It takes around 4 hours to be charged fully.

The scooter has been designed in such a way that it can be used conveniently in an urban setting. The scooter would be sold in Europe from some point in 2018. Piaggio has still not said anything about whether it will launch the scooter in India.

Details on the scooter

The scooter is expected to have a TFT (thin film transistor) screen that will measure 4.3 inches and come with various multimedia options. It will be able to consistently produce power in the range of 2.7 BHP (brake horsepower) and would be able to get up to 5.4 BHP at the most.

Piaggio has further stated that the bike would be operating in complete silence. If you buy the X variant you would get a generator along with the electric motor. This would help you get twice the range that the makers are claiming to provide.

Elettrica would get its power from a lithium-ion battery that is light and it would run 1000 cycles at the very least. This means that with one battery you would be able to drive at least 50,000 to 70,000 km.

The scooter comes in a couple of riding modes – Power and Eco. In the Eco mode, you would not get top speeds in excess of 30 kilometers per hour (KMPH).

Some more information

The design of this bike is a lot similar to the scooter design used normally by Vespa. The scooter also has a multimedia system that allows you to pair a Bluetooth headset, as well as your smartphone, to the scooter.

The dashboard provides you plenty of information too and it comes with a number of interactive options. This includes notifications pertaining to incoming messages and calls.

The dashboard also tells you about the speed you are going at, the battery charge that remains, and the residual range.

It is pretty easy to operate the multimedia system – you have a joystick that can be accessed quite easily and is there on the right handlebar.

If you connect your smartphone to the scooter you would be able to use a headphone and operate it by way of voice commands. The scooter will be coming in seven colors. There will also be plenty of accessories to choose from in this case.

In this day and age when fossil fuels such as petroleum and coal are coming to an end and their unabashed abuse has led to environmental pollution of such potentially catastrophic proportions, it is highly important that vehicles such as these are promoted and used to a greater extent.
