You brought your first car, wow! Such an amazing feeling of being behind the wheels of your new love. But, have you checked your car warranty or have you even considered extended car warranty?

The term car warranty means a coverage that will pay you in case your car suffers any damage. However, this does not mean that it will last forever. There is normally a period for which this works. It could be a period of time – say 3 years – or a certain amount of distance travelled by a car – say 60,000 miles. Normally, there is also a date against which this time or distance is judged. In most cases, it is the date when the car was made. Normally such coverage deals with any defect in your car that may have caused it to work badly.

Within the warranty period if the car suffers any damage or malfunctions because of faulty parts and the like then the car maker would repair those parts or replace them without you having to pay a single cent for the same.

Extended Car Warranty

It could always happen that the car does not suffer any kind of damage within the initial warranty period. But that does not mean that it would not at a later date. This is why so many car owners buy extended warranties to make sure that their costs stay covered as and when needed.

These days, there are many companies that provide the kind of warranty that you got when your car was a new one. This has indeed made life a lot easier for them, without the shadow of a doubt. The main aim of such coverage is to safeguard your car in case of any electrical or mechanical issue and also keep your own money secure in the process.

Not all Extended Warranties are the same

Yes, just like any and everything else in life, not all extended warranties are alike. The main area of difference is always the coverage provided in these plans.

There are some warranty plans that would only provide coverage for certain items in your car. Now, you need to keep in mind that your car is made up of 5000 parts! A list that covers only 150 items among them is not going to be sufficient now, is it? You can also be sure that in most cases the terms and conditions of your warranty may not always be the best as well. They might not provide you the kind of value that you are looking for your investment. You need to choose the most comprehensive policy that your money can buy.

Who is paying for the Repairs?

You would see in several cases that most of the warranty companies are not providing or reimbursing the full money you have spent for repairing a part. For this, they would use complex legal words. One of such words is a betterment cause, which makes sure that the company pays only a part of your expenses based on how old your car is and how much it has travelled. The company may also tell you that they would cover the costs of all your parts. Even then, you would need to take things with a pinch of salt.

This is because they would never cover for related expenses such as labor expenses. When you take into account the fact that labor costs have increased in many places this is a serious exclusion as well. You also need to take into account the fact that there are some other costs in this regard such as recovery, travel, and hotel expenses that are important in this regard. Even, in case, the warranty company says it would cover this cost you would need to be sure if they are paying you the entire amount or not.

The Benefits of Car Warranty

At a basic level car warranty helps you by letting you avoid costs needed to repair your car. This is especially true of the ones that you had not expected in the first place. The car warranty service providers normally offer you a whole range of programs to choose from and based on your needs you can make a choice. There are normally two major kinds of coverage – component coverage and full coverage. Normally, when you opt for component coverage you choose to cover the costliest parts. As part of the extensive coverage, you cover the entire car with the only exception being the wear parts.

Normally, these programs are really flexible and as such the period of coverage depends on the condition that the product is in. these policies also provide you cash in case your car has broken down and are valid across entire countries. With the help of these policies you get plenty of mental peace and as such you are able to plan properly as well. Such coverage also increases the worth of your car. Basically, such coverage allows you to drive free of any worry and that too for a longer period of time.

Maruti – the name itself evokes a lot of “emotions”. For Indians, at least Maruti 800 has long served as the quintessential go-to car carrying us through the trickiest of alleys and the roughest of terrains with grand ease. Our nineties – quite frankly- were incomplete without complete reverence for this car. The car phased out with the passage of time but Maruti itself continued to astound us.

In fact, one of the main reasons why we would be looking forward to 2018 Auto Expo is this brand itself. Documented below is a line-up of cars that Maruti is going to showcase here.

Next Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift

Those who have been a part of the Tokyo Motor Show held in the recent past will vouch for the sportier version of Swift. Car connoisseurs are equally excited about the Indian counterpart. The Indian model will likely be similar in terms of looks of the one that has already been showcased in Tokyo. The engines are all poised to provide 1.3 liters petrol and 1.2 liters of diesel. The brand is expected to come out with a sportier version of Swift with RS badging.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift

Thanks to so many rivals jumping the “facelift” bandwagon, even Maruti has brought out the new avatar of Ciaz as well. The new model is all set to have a sleeker frame with the same engine capacity as that of its earlier version.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

Reports of Maruti Suzuki India testing an updated Ertiga MPV have been doing the rounds for quite a while now. Well. Auto Expo 2018 might as well be the end of your wait as you go on to witness the all-new Ertiga with its 1.5-liter diesel engine.

Maruti Suzuki Entry-Level Hatchback Concept

Maruti is clearly walking the Hyundai way. Even Hyundai is reportedly in the process of testing its hatchback model before presenting it at the Expo. So, there’s no reason why Maruti should be left behind. As per reports, the new entry-level model is likely to appeal to new-age car buyers.

Maruti Grand Vitara

As per reports, the much-loved Vitara moniker is poised to stage a comeback at the Auto Expo 2018. There are strong suggestions indicating that the car will borrow its powertrain options from S-Cross—1.6 liter diesel unit.

Over the years the concept of car insurance has got better and that also to a significant extent. These days, as a consumer, you can expect to select from a wide range of extra coverage and various services based on assistance. This way, you are also able to get the highest possible value from your car insurance policy. A comprehensive car insurance policy might provide you the costs of repair but important emergency services can be hard to come by.

Protecting your engine

This is the first thing that you should be looking at if you are aiming to make the most of your car insurance. One of the commonest forms of damage that your car may suffer during the monsoon season is engine seizure. This could happen because water is entering your engine or ingression over there. This could also lead to your car stopping dead right in the middle of the road. Normally, in such cases, the drivers tend to drive their cars quicker in an effort to get out of the predicament. This only serves to make the situation worse.

Normally, a comprehensive insurance policy would not cover engine seizure owing to water ingress. For this, you would need an engine protect or hydrostatic cover facility. This would make sure that your car insurance policy deals with the external issues as well as a breakdown of engine owing to damages such as water ingression. Similarly, such policies can also cover damage of engine suffered by lubricants leaking onto the engine.

Roadside help

These days, it is quite normal to see your car breaking down in the middle of the road. This means that when this happens you are stranded at an unknown location because you do not get any help or there is no garage nearby.

There are no mechanics that they can turn to at the roadside. This is where roadside assistance cover in your car insurance policy can come in so handy. When you have such coverage in your policy you would not have to worry about getting help in circumstances such as those. The insurer itself would arrange for your vehicle to be towed to the garage or workshop closest to the spot where the breakdown has happened, or provide you the help needed to deal with the problem.

Along with small repairs and towing help such cover would also help you get access to some very important facilities. This includes services such as arranging fuel, battery and replacing fuel. Nowadays, they are also known to provide you a substitute car and hotel accommodation as part of their benefits in this regard.

Return to invoice

In case, if you were to lose your car or if it was stolen, the insurer would pay you the insurer declared value (IDV) of said car. However, you still do not get the difference between the car’s ex-showroom price and its IDV as well as the road tax you have paid on the same.

When you have the additional feature named return to invoice you will indeed get the road tax as well as the differential amount that has already been spoken about. This would also make it easier for you to purchase a new car.

Quality Assurance

Nowadays, it is possible for an insurer to guarantee you that it would arrange a certain level of repairs in case you needed it. In case you make a claim it would make sure that your car is repaired at a workshop that is authorized to do such work.

As the car owner, this is the best service that you can ask for. The insurer would also provide you pick up and drop for free as part of these services. However, before you avail a service such as this you should definitely call up the insurer so that you can get complete details of the benefits provided in this regard. This will help you take a decision regarding the repairs of your car.

Repairing in case there is an accident

Roadside help

This will make sure that you are always peaceful as a car owner. This service would make sure that your car is repaired properly and you would also get help at the right time and place

Your first car or second, you love for drive never decreases. But like any other relation, your car or bike also required proper care and maintenance to give you that exact pleasure of ride which you enjoyed the first time while holding it. The Autofizz sharing nine easy but effective tips to keep your vehicle fit and rock steady. Here we go-

The First Tip

There are plenty of things that you need to do in order to make sure that your car is in fine fettle. The first thing that you need to do in order to keep your vehicle in proper working order is to check the oil on a regular basis and change it if the need arises. If you change your filter and oil on a regular basis it would be the best thing that could happen to your car. On the other hand, if you do not check and change the oil in your car it could be the worst thing to do to your car.

The Second Tip

You should change the coolant and flush your cooling system at least once a year. When you have distilled water and coolant in an equal proportion in your cooling system you can be sure that your cooling system would be fine enough. It would stop corrosion from happening as well as deposits that may otherwise build up within the cooling system.

The Third Tip

Always change out the differential and transmission oils. It is true that you need not do it on a frequent basis. However, they should be changed at definite intervals for sure. You should only use gear oil and transmission fluid that has been recommended to you. It has to be of the right viscosity levels as well.

The Fourth Tip

Keep your car as clean as may be possible for you. Obviously, when we say this we mean that the outside needs to be washed as much as possible. Also, check the undersides since the run over materials may get stuck over there. In case of road grime and winter salt, you should definitely use a hosepipe.

The Fifth Tip

Frequent lubrication of your car is necessary since almost all parts that move depend on it. If your car is poorly lubricated parts such as ball joints may be badly affected. This is also applicable for u-joints and other driveline components such as itself. At times you may also need to remove the driveline in order to be able to use the zerk grease fitting.

The Sixth Tip

You should use the best quality of wax that you can afford. This will make sure that the car keeps looking good for a really long period of time. You should apply wax on your car after six months every year.

The Seventh tip

Need to take care of the plastic inside and so, as much as may be possible, park your car in shaded areas. You can also use a window deflector screen for this purpose or apply an ultraviolet (UV) protectant. This will make sure that the vinyl and the plastic do not dry out.

The Eighth Tip

You should clean your wheel bearings at definite intervals as required by your mechanics and the like. If the need be you may have to get them cleaned and repacked as well. As opposed to replacing hubs and spindles it would cost you a lot less change the grease and the wheel bearings. This will also make sure that the wheels do not come after some time of neglect.

The Ninth tip

Brake fluid normally happens to be hygroscopic. This implies it is capable of drawing moisture. When you have moisture the components tend to get corroded and then they start to fail. This is why you need to change the bleed system and the fluid at least once a year. Brake fluid is normally on the cheaper side but calipers, sensors, and hoses tend to be sensitive and on the costlier side. This is something that you need to keep in mind.

Now, you know how to keep your car clear so your mood happy! Let us know your experience or any new tips you would like to share with our reader, comment below and share the articles with your friends on social media who don’t keep their vehicles clean.

An Overview

When you are buying a second-hand car there are a few things that you need to take care of. Intensive research is obviously going play an important part in determining which car you eventually buy. One of the first things that you need to take into account in this regard is the year when that car was registered. In case, the car is 3 to 5 years old and it has run anywhere between 14,000 and 18,000 km you could consider it to be in prime condition.

The next thing that needs to be looked at in this case is the car’s Odometer reading. This will help you to determine when the car was built. The important thing that you would need to keep in mind, in this case, is that there is always a chance that people could play around with that thing. It does not really matter if it is a mechanical one or an electronic one.

You also need to check the engine to see if it is getting a smooth start or not. If the engine has been maintained well it should not produce any bad sound. At the same time, a well-maintained engine won’t give off blue or black smoke when you are trying to make your car run faster. You also need to check if the exhaust is spouting any oil or not.

If the tires are not as good as you want them to be you can always bargain with the seller and reduce the price of the car by at least INR 1000. In this case, check the alignment as well as the wear and tear that the tires may have suffered. Also check for some other important things like the bushings, sounds from the bearings, and the springs. You need to keep in mind that the wheel bearings can cost you a lot.

Once you are done with this make sure to go and check the bonnet. You must also find out if the car has been repainted or not. Also, check the battery area and see if that part has suffered any wear and tear from the acid or not. If you see such damage you can be rest assured that the car owner has not maintained it properly enough.

The Documents

The first thing that needs to be checked in this regard is the Blue Book or the registration certificate. You need to verify if it is a duplicate or not. For this, you would need to go to your nearest regional transport office (RTO) and get the Blue Book verified for authentication. Check if the chassis and engine numbers are the same as it has been mentioned in the registration papers. Check the state where the car has been registered. Ideally, the state mentioned in the registration should be the same as where you are planning to use the car. If that is not the case you should make sure that the previous owner or seller is doing all that needs to be done in order for the registration to be transferred to your preferred state. Also check, if the seller has the tax receipt from the RTO or not.

The next thing that needs to be checked in this case is the insurance certificate of the car that you are buying. As far as the car is concerned it happens to be the most important document of them all. Check if the car owner has made any previous claim related to accidents. For any and every transfer by the RTO, it is very essential that this paper is present.

Wrapping up…

When you are transferring the car to your name it is also very important to get the pollution under control certificate. Also, get the relevant certificate from your local municipal body. This is highly important in case you are getting the car registered in a municipal area. Also make sure that the earlier seller is providing you with the road tax papers. It would be better if the person concerned cleared all the outstanding payment before you bought the car. There are also some other documents that need to be taken care of in this case. In case, the earlier owner had bought the car on loan then you would need to get those papers from that person. Always try and get the original invoice for your new second-hand car from the seller.

With all these important tips on how you can buy a car, we hope this post becomes helpful for your purpose.

You are planning to buy a second hand car for your wife, your kids or for yourself but, have you given a thought how are you going to do this? Before you go ahead with the purchase you’d do well to know that India does have a huge market when it comes to second hand cars. In fact, a report by Frost and Sullivan’s also said that in 2017 the number of second hand cars sold was equal to that of the newer ones if not higher. It might be a used car but it could very well be the first car you’re buying. This is the reason why you need to do a lot to make sure that you’re making the correct decision and picking the car that’s just the right one for you.

Normally, the real work starts once you’re done deciding the car that you wish to buy. There’s so much paperwork to deal with that at times you could be forgiven that it is not going end, like forever. You also have to deal with processes such as registrations, transfers, etc. Last, but not the least, is the small matter of insurance. Don’t even get me started on that one. It can be worse than a bad marriage gone horribly wrong. To quote, or rather sound like, Kurt Angle, the struggle is true, oh it’s true! This is why you need all the help you can get.

Getting’ the Car and its Papers

The first thing that you need to do is get the car, as well as its papers, inspected in the best possible way. As far as getting the car and its parts checked is concerned you should go to a mechanic that you trust completely. This way the present owner of the car would be able to fix the car properly before you buy it. At the very least, it’d help you get a price that would be good enough for you.

Getting’ the RC (registration certificate) Transferred to Your Name

In order to do this you need to first fill out forms 29 and 30 and then submit them to the competent authority. These are normally issued by the RTO (regional transport office) that has jurisdiction over your area. For this you need to find the RTO that is closest to your home. Both the previous owner of the car and you need to sign the forms. In case, the car’s been registered in a jurisdiction that’s different to yours then you can get an NOC (no objection certification) from the RTO of that particular area.

Getting’ the Car’s Insurance Transferred to Your Name

There are a few ways in which you can go about this process. First of all you can just change the name of the policy owner in policy document. In case, the previous owner does not have an insurance policy then you need to apply for one as soon as you get the RC. In fact, it is always better to buy a new policy in these cases. In India it is very important that you have proper and valid insurance in your name when you own a car.

Transferring’ the No Claim Bonus (NCB)

The NCB’s normally provided to the insured and not the vehicle that has been insured. This is the reason why when the vehicle changes hands the insurance policy does as well. However, this does not mean that the NCB’s changed hands as well. As long as the balance policy period is effective it is you who will have to pay the difference of the NCB. On the other hand, the old owner will be able to use the NCB for any new car that she or he buys.

Clearing’ and Fixing the Car Before You Drive It the First Time

In this case there would be a few things that you’d have to attend to. You need to get the car cleaned up in a thorough manner. You’d have to change the fluids as well and there could also be some quick fixes that you may have to do. As far as cleaning up the car is concerned you’d need to clean it from the inside as well as the outside. If you wish to flaunt this new car you need to it to look spanking clean.
